COVID-19 PATIENT Notice
To Our Patients:
We are reaching out to keep you and your family informed about COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus. As authorities recommend more social distancing, Coastal Allergy & Asthma PC is already prepared to prevent disruptions in your specialty care.
We are doing everything possible at all of our offices to limit the spread of this virus. We will be screening all of our patients at the door and doing temperature checks and will not allow patients with symptoms suggestive of Coronavirus to come into the office. We are asking that you limit the number of guests with each patient. We ask only parents/guardians, caregivers come for appointments and injection visits.
WE DO NOT TEST OR TREAT THE CORONAVIRUS.
If you have a fever, cough, and trouble breathing or you think you may have been exposed to the coronavirus, contact your primary care doctor for further instructions. In an emergency (for instance, if you are having severe breathing problems) contact the ER or call 911.
As part of the effort to prevent the spread of the virus, we will be handling sick visits via phone only. All scheduled patients will be screened and patients who fail this screening will not be seen in the office. If you have had a respiratory illness with fever within the last 1-2 weeks and have an appointment, please contact our office first.
We ask all of our immunodeficiency patients who are scheduled for routine follow up to contact our office to reschedule their visits for a later time so as to minimize any exposure.
For our patients on immunotherapy, we will continue to provide allergy shots but you will be screened at the door. If you are deemed able to receive immunotherapy we would ask that you wait your recommend wait time in your car so as to limit your wait time in the waiting room. We will call you when your allergy shot is ready.
SHOT HOURS:
Monday8am- 5:00pm
Tuesday 8am- 5:00pm
Wednesday 8am- 5:00pm
Thursday 8am- 5:00pm
Friday 8am- 12:00pm
If you are unable to arrive for your allergy shot during these times, please call our office at 912-354-6190 to schedule other arrangements.
Remember, the best defense against the coronavirus is washing your hands well and often, covering coughs and sneezes, avoid touching your face and avoiding contact with people who are sick. We recommend practicing strict social distancing, including staying home as much as possible, limiting close contact with others when out, staying at least 6 feet away from anyone who is sick, avoiding all crowds and gatherings, and avoiding any air travel. We recommend you have an adequate supply of your medications.
You may be a higher risk for complications if you are over the age of 60, have diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, lung disease (asthma or COPD), primary immunodeficiency, or immunosuppression from medications.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and know that we at Coastal Allergy & Asthma will do our part to help stop the spread of the virus.
